Healthier Texas improves how schools implement and promote healthy practices that lead to broader impact in communities. Utilizing the CDC’s Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSSC) framework, Healtheir Texas helps to unite health partners and connects them with school professionals, families, parent-led groups and students to make health more achievable for all Texans within our educational system. Bridging the gap between a school’s health goals and available resources, Healthier Texas encourages schools to implement policies, systems, and environmental changes to improve health outcomes.

School Health Improvement Plans

At Healthier Texas, we aim to create a shared value around health and support school districts as they work to enact strategies focused on improving the health and wellness of their educators, staff, students, and families. Our process for supporting our school partners uses a simplified CDC School Health Improvement Plan model through which Healthier Texas will provide capacity support, tools, and resources directly to the school district at no cost.
