Summit Track Spotlight: Workplace
New to the Summit this year, the Workplace track will include presentations and panels with members of businesses and organizations and the forefront of health innovation, including ACAP Health, HealthAware Solutions, Guckenheimer, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Humana, WELL, and the Houston Business Coalition on Health (HBCH). Dr. Chris Skisak, Executive Director of HBCH, is participating in the Workplace panel, “Advancing Employee Wellness Through Community Partnerships and Business Coalitions” and will share what HBCH does to foster collaboration and measure their success, and discuss breaking down the biggest roadblocks in the way of more fluid cross-sector collaboration.
“Attendees will gain a better understanding of the unsustainability of our current health care system, that collaboration among formerly competing factions will be required to make a difference, and that the new health care model will be as much based on prevention as cure,” Dr. Skisak shared. ” This is my first Summit so I am excited to meet new colleagues and share the passion that I have for the PIECES model of total wellbeing that include Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Community, Economic and Spiritual elements.”
The Houston Business Coalition on Health is a two-year-old non-profit organization working together with many other local, state and national organizations. HBCH’s mission is to be the leading resource for employers dedicated to improving the health and wellness of their employees and brings together all stakeholders to both lower cost and improve quality, contributing to the economic vitality of the Houston business community.
