For years, national funding helped Healthier Texas connect families to care before crisis. That chapter made an impact, but it was written in Washington. Now, the story is coming home.
We’re building a prevention movement by Texans, for Texans. One powered by local action, not federal approval. Every dollar you give stays here in Texas, training community health workers, helping families access care, and building healthier communities that move at the speed of need.
Because when decisions are made locally, Texans don’t wait, we act. Your gift fuels:
- Community Health Workers connecting neighbors to nutrition, coaching, and care
- Faith and community hubs offering screenings and support instead of ER visits
- Local innovation that cuts preventable hospital visits by up to 30% and saves lives

Our Services
Healthier Texas is a nonprofit committed to addressing health needs across the state of Texas. We’re working to reduce the risk of preventable diseases while improving health outcomes for Texans. Together we will build healthier communities—Together we thrive!
Health Coaching
Health coaching assistance is just a call, text, or video chat away. Available in English and Spanish, our certified health coaches provide personalized, one-on-one support OR virtual and in-person group support to help you set and achieve health goals, establish and maintain healthier habits, and prevent and manage chronic conditions.
Community Challenge
The Community Challenge is back, and it’s all about showing up for your health alongside people across Texas! This year, the Challenge will run February 2 – March 29.Whether you’re joining solo, with friends or coworkers, or as part of a larger community, this Challenge is a chance to build healthier habits, stay motivated, and feel supported along the way. No perfection required. Just real effort, real people, and progress you can feel.
Healthier Texas Summit
The Healthier Texas Summit is an annual event, where thought leaders and health champions, gather to connect, share innovative ideas, and cultivate cross-sector relationships essential for building a healthier Texas.
Health + Healing Hubs
At Healthier Texas, we understand that staying healthy isn’t always easy. That is why we have partnered with local community leaders, faith based organizations, and Texas Health Resources to bring services and support right to where you live, work, and worship.
Health Education Resources
Healthier Texas works to build healthier lives and healthier communities across Texas through interactive programming and educational materials. We encourage you to utilize our health education materials as a resource and as personal support throughout your health journey.
Free Fitness Classes
Healthier Texas offers free fitness classes to all Texans and all fitness levels! Formats include Zumba, yoga, MixxedFit and more. Classes are available in English and Spanish.
